The Security Services Archive was established by law in 2008 together with the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes. Its most important task is to administer and make available the archival materials of the security forces from the communist totalitarian rule period. At the same time, it serves the needs of other Czech authorities. In recent years, its very important agenda has been the searching for documents and writing expert opinions according to the Act on the Participants in Anti-Communist Opposition and Resistance. The eBadatelna application (https://www.ebadatelna.cz/) has been used for remote viewing of archives since 2016.
