The neo-classical building of the Podolí Waterworks was built in the second half of the 1920s on the site of the old waterworks according to the project of Antonín Engel. It includes a 45-metre high water tower decorated with sandstone sculptures representing an allegory of the Vltava River and its ten important right and left tributaries. The Museum of Prague Waterworks is located in the old filtration plant; its exhibition presents the historical development of Prague’s water supply from the first private waterworks in the 12th century to the current supply.
